Throuple Co LLC operates Throuple, a dating and community service for adults interested in three-person relationships and related relationship structures. This policy applies to throuple.co, the Throuple mobile application, and related services.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
- Account data such as email, username, display name, birth year, credentials, verification status, login and security events, and consent records.
- Profile data such as photographs, biography, gender, pronouns, orientation, relationship structure, linked members, interests, intentions, boundaries, preferences, and free-text answers.
- Relationship and access data such as invitations, confirmations, membership changes, approvals, visibility settings, and account/profile access history.
- Matching data such as compatibility answers, dealbreakers, location and distance preferences, recommendations, likes, saves, passes, matches, blocks, and ranking signals.
- Location data such as city, region, country, postal-code area, approximate location, and precise device coordinates when you grant permission. Exact street addresses are not intended to be displayed to users.
- User content such as messages, group-room messages, community posts, replies, reactions, bookmarks, photos, reports, appeals, support requests, feedback, and survey responses.
- Photo and media data, including the file, storage path, technical properties, metadata, upload time, moderation status, and safety or duplicate-content signals.
- Device and usage data such as IP address, user-agent, device and application identifiers, operating system, device model, browser, app version, language, time zone, pages and screens viewed, feature interactions, referral source, crash reports, error diagnostics, and security events.
- Push-notification data such as push token, platform, app version, and token registration and delivery status.
- Waitlist and feedback data. A person who joins the waitlist may provide an email address and signup source. Feedback may include category, message, page, contact email, account ID, timestamp, and user-agent.
- Transaction data if paid features are offered, including product, subscription status, transaction ID, amount, currency, renewals, refunds, and limited billing information. Complete payment-card numbers are generally handled by the app store or payment processor.
Some of this information may reveal sexual orientation, sex life, gender identity, relationship structure, health or safety circumstances, precise location, or private communications. Do not provide information you do not want processed or shared through the feature you use.
Local storage, cookies, and permissions
The website and app may use cookies, local storage, software development kits, device identifiers, and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, preferences, performance, analytics, and campaign measurement. The mobile app stores session information and the selected profile locally on the device. Deleting the app does not delete your server account.
Depending on the features you use, the app may request notification, location, camera, or photo-library permission. We do not access device contacts unless a feature requiring that access is introduced and you authorize it.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts, profiles, relationship linking, matching, messaging, community, notifications, support, and requested features; personalize and improve the Services; calculate recommendations; process subscriptions; prevent fraud, spam, impersonation, abuse, and underage access; investigate reports; enforce our rules; secure the Services; respond to emergencies and lawful requests; maintain audit records; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Matching systems may automatically filter, score, and rank recommendations using preferences, compatibility answers, relationship links, location, activity, blocks, and prior decisions. These systems do not make legal decisions about you.
Disclosure and visibility
Depending on your settings and the feature, other users may see your display name, age, photos, biography, gender, pronouns, relationship structure, linked members, general location, approximate distance, interests, intentions, verification status, community content, compatibility summaries, and messages you send them. Recipients may copy, screenshot, record, or disclose content outside Throuple.
We may disclose information to hosting, database, authentication, storage, email, SMS, push-notification, analytics, crash-reporting, mapping, moderation, verification, payment, customer-support, cybersecurity, fraud-prevention, and professional-service providers. We may also disclose information for legal, safety, emergency, corporate transaction, or user-directed purposes. We do not sell personal information for money and do not use private dating content or precise location for third-party behavioral advertising.
Retention, deletion, and rights
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the Services, security, safety, legal obligations, disputes, and business records. As a general schedule, raw analytics events may be retained for 90 days, aggregated non-identifying metrics for 13 months, push-delivery diagnostics for 30 days, and ordinary reports for up to two years after resolution. Messages, moderation records, blocks, enforcement records, audit history, match snapshots, and relationship-membership history may remain longer when needed for safety, legal, fraud-prevention, or participant-history purposes.
You may pause, hide, export, correct, or delete your account where those controls are available, or contact privacy@throuple.co. Deletion does not remove content retained by recipients, legal or payment records, safety and fraud records, historical audit records, or temporary backups where retention is permitted or required. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, portability, restriction, objection, consent withdrawal, and opt-out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling.
Security and international processing
We use safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls, logging, monitoring, backups, vendor controls, and incident-response procedures. No system is completely secure. Throuple is based in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries using legally recognized transfer safeguards where required.
